Many people who feel called to healing work have meaningful training, real-life experience, inner knowing, and natural gifts, but haven't yet found a way to bring those pieces together into a healing practice that feels genuinely their own.
This conversation explores what happens when personal healing begins to evolve into something more.

Have you ever wondered whether your own healing journey might be pointing toward something more?

Often this path begins with life experiences that change us.
A difficult illness.
A personal crisis.
A period of deep searching.
Years spent studying healing practices.

Healing is often spoken about as recovery, as restoring

what was lost.

But for many people, healing becomes something more.

Experiences that once felt destabilizing begin to

resemble initiation.

Moments of struggle begin to reveal meaning.

What we've lived through begins to shape how we

show up for others.

And eventually, a quiet question begins to surface:

Is this becoming a calling?

For some, the very experiences that once brought pain become a source of wisdom they can offer others.

Recognizing this movement from personal healing toward service can be one of the most meaningful turning points in a person's life.

Your healing path isn't only shaped by what you've studied. It's also shaped by what you've lived.

In this live conversation, we’ll explore:

  • Healing as relationship rather than simply recovery

  • How crisis and life challenges can become forms of initiation

  • The subtle movement from personal healing toward service

  • How to listen for what may already be emerging in your life

  • Bob will also briefly introduce Soul Medicine: Journey from Calling to Healing Practice, his upcoming twelve-week mentorship for healers, coaches, therapists, bodyworkers, and guides who are ready to bring together their life experience, training, inner knowing, and natural gifts into a healing practice that feels genuinely their own.

This gathering offers space to reflect on how healing experiences sometimes shape a deeper path of service.

This conversation may resonate if you:

  • Have gone through meaningful personal healing and sense it may carry wisdom for others

  • Feel drawn toward healing work but are unsure how to step into it

  • Already work as a healer, coach, therapist, bodyworker, or guide, but sense that your work hasn't fully come together in a way that feels like your own

  • Sense that your life experiences may be shaping you toward service

You may already be walking this path, even if you haven't fully named it yet.

Robert "Bob" Vetter is a cultural anthropologist, healer, and storyteller. For more than forty years, he has lived in close relationship with Native American elders in Oklahoma, where he was welcomed by families of four Native nations and eventually adopted as a grandson by Oliver Pahdopony, the last surviving medicine man of the Comanches.

Over the years, Bob trained in curanderismo, temazcal ceremony, medical qigong, sound healing, energy medicine, and Ericksonian hypnosis. He is the author of Big Bow: The Spiritual Life and Teachings of a Kiowa Family.

But what shaped him most wasn't any single technique. It was witnessing how authentic healers carried what they had lived.

Bob's work rests on a simple principle: the healer is the medicine. Today, he helps others bring together their life experience, training, inner knowing, and natural gifts into healing work that is genuinely their own. He is the creator of Soul Medicine: Journey from Calling to Healing Practice and Becoming a Wisdom Keeper.
